The information “may include the patient’s name, mailing address, email address, date of birth, and for some patients a Social Security number, lab results, dictated reports and medical conditions,” according to the company.
Concentra, a subsidiary of Humana, opened the Escambia Employee and Family Healthcare Center in 2011. Concentra is a client of a medical software company called Medical Informatics Engineering, who announced early this month that they had been hacked in May.
The county has said it only learned of the hack Friday and have not confirmed whether any employees’ information was accessed. An email to employees this morning warned of the hack.
The hack has been reported to the FBI, and an investigation is ongoing.
The company also says that have “determined the methods of compromise for this event and they have been addressed.”
MIE says it will notify affected individuals whose information was accessed no later than July 25.
